A Boy is a Joy

11 Oct

Well, I didn’t want those baby boys to be feeling left out. I posted a Girl Frame a few days ago and now here is the Boy one.

I kept the colors all blue and white. Simple yet pretty darned cute. Recently, I purchased these little packs of chipboard “buttons” from Colorbok. There are 30 pieces in a box and I got the blue seen here along with pink and black/white. I only used 7 on this project so there are plenty left for others. I found it in a special $1 bin at one of those fun craft stores. So it was totally a bargain too. Love that!

Let me show you close up of the lower, right corner. It is a pretty little blue bird. He came from Spellbinders’ and is the middle sized Nested Bird.

1010-boy-frame-closeI thought it was fun to tie the ribbon onto the back of his tail and then, as it came all the way around the frame, I snipped his beak and placed the ribbon in it. He is definitely a creative bird. Finally, I added the pop out letters, B-O-Y onto the bird with dimensional adhesive. It really stands out in person.

Important Stuff: Blue dot paper (Provo Craft), Chipboard buttons, pop out letters (Colorbok), Wizard, S4-160 Bird (Spellbinders Paper Arts)
Other Stuff: Unfinished Frame (Michael’s), PVA glue (Lineco), cream ribbon (Offray)

So, if you know anyone expecting a baby, head on over to one of your favorite craft stores and get a frame to decorate for the little arrival. It’s easy to create and will mean so much to the mama.

Happy Creating, Eli
