Prickley Pear comes to Frillions

19 Apr

I’m thrilled to announce that I will be designing with a fabulous company, Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps®, “Where Classic Meets Whimsy.” This is an amazing stamp company with over 600 designs from florals to fairies, pirates to polka dots and vintage to valentine’s. Definitely go check it out.

My first post HAD to be with this new, brilliant image of the 50’s Lady.

The look on her face just cried out for a little sarcasm. That’s how I came up with the sentiment, “Thanks…I think.”

WARNING: If you decide to create a card using this as an inspiration, please only send it to friends with a sense of humor. (LOL)

  1. Stamp 50’s Lady onto color copy paper with black dye ink.
  2. Color the image using Copic Markers.
  3. Cut/emboss image using S4-144 Long Rectangles SM, #5 (count the center as #1)
  4. Airbrush in the center of the image with it still in the die template.
  5. Using a black pen write “I think” in a conversation bubble.
  6. Cut/emboss dot paper using S4-145 Long Scalloped Rectangles SM, #5
  7. Trim striped paper to 3-1/2×5″
  8. Trim textured yellow cardstock to 4×12″; fold in half for 4×6″ card base.
  9. Edge the papers (as shown) with brown marker.
  10. Adhere paper elements to card placing them (as seen) above the card fold.
  11. Add a letter bead to a decorative pin, {I colored mine with Copic Sketch Marker first.} and drop a tiny bit of gem glue into the bead.
  12. Add another letter and continue until the sentiment is complete.
  13. Lay aside to dry. Add to the card with more gem glue.
  14. Send to one of your sassy girlfriends.

I think she’s ready for her close-up:
