Prickley Pear Releases Coordinating Stamps and Die Cuts

18 May

Hooray. The first day of our Blog Hop Release Party has begun and we can’t wait to show you all the fun stuff AND give you the opportunity to win some prizes.

Welcome to the Prickley Pear Rubber Stamp Blog Hop to introduce a new line of coordinating die cuts and clear stamps.

Visit the Design Team’s daily releases and the Prickley Pear Rubber Stamp blog from May 18 until May 21 and leave a comment to have chances to win one of four prize packages worth $50 in PPRS products. Of course each of the prize packages will feature one of the new release sets: Build a Bird, Hibiscus, Build an Owl and Butterfly.

More than one chance to win.
Each day you have more than one chance to win. Start at the Prickley Pear Rubber Stamp Blog. Leave a comment on the blog for one chance to win. Then hop on over to the day’s release blogs and comment there too for more chances to win. Sounds easy enough. And the bonus is that you’ll see some fabulous paper projects featuring the new sets.

For each release, you’ll have 2 days to participate…you’ll have until midnight the night AFTER the release day to enter comments. Please just one comment per blog.

Today’s Release is the Build a Bird:
Clearly Beautiful Build A Bird stamps and Build a Bird Die Cut

Did  you check out the  Prickley Pear Rubber Stamp Blog? Well don’t forget to do that AND leave a comment for one chance to win. Then, after you leave a comment here at “Frillions,” you’ll want to visit Tesa over at Tesas Scrap and leave a comment there for another chance. So, three chances today!

Today, my project is a little gift for my daughter who has been reading up a storm. I told her that this summer, she could read as late as she wanted in bed…but still had to get up in the morning for camp and such. I thought a little bookmark and a bookstore gift card would be a fun way for her to start out the summer. Here is my “Read” project.

and inside the card:

  1. Begin with a patterned paper mat (4½x6½”). Fold it in half and cut.
  2. Create a mat for those two pieces by cutting dark turquoise cardstock ½” wider and 1″ longer than the patterned paper.
  3. Mount the patterned paper on both sides, towards the top of the blue strip.
  4. Cut two 2″ squares of turquoise cardstock, one dark and one light. Cut a dark square  slightly larger than the light turquoise square. Adhere.
  5. Die cut the bird twice. Cut an extra wing from yellow paper.
  6. Place one of the Clearly Beautiful Build a Bird stamps onto an acrylic block. Ink the stamp with turquoise ink, position the stamp over the bird die-cut: impress. (How cool is that?!!!)
  7. Stamp a bird (without a wing) on the inside of the card in the upper left corner.
  8. After the ink is dry, use a glitter pen to embellish the bird’s eye, beak and stamped designs.
  9. Add a bird to the bookmark as shown. Use dimensional adhesive for the wing.
  10. Use a gel pen to add the sentiment, “A little bird told me” and “You Like To”
  11. Stamp letters for R-E-A-D onto light blue cardstock. Cut out and mount onto the book mark. Stamp an extra letter (any is fine), cut out and set aside for the card.
  12. Add a brad and ribbon to the bookmark as shown.
  13. On a card base, add a dark turquoise mat to the front. Add a patterned mat with a torn edge as shown.
  14. Adhere the matted turquoise square and then the second bird.
  15. Adhere the yellow wing, upside down, using dimensional adhesive.
  16. Using the extra stamped letter, adhere the bottom right corner, placing the bottom left corner near the bird’s wing. What a fun way to make the bird look like she is reading.
  17. Add a ribbon to the front of the card.
  18. Create a pocket for the inside of the card, just below the stamped bird, and add a real gift card…lol.

I am so excited about your new line of stamps and dies. What a great start. I love them all . (I want them all.) I guess the one I like best is the flowers, however who can pick. They al have such great personalities on their own. Love the samples and that gives us wonderful ideas.
