ADVENTURE journal (CTD #109)

12 Sep

Another Perfect Travel Journal: if you are not familiar with my travel journals and what makes them “perfect,” check out this post here. I used the inspiration at Color Throwdown this week, #109 to design the cover:

I imagined this in my mind and it even came out almost like I imagined. I knew I wanted the letters to “cover the cover,” and to follow a patchwork of the colors from above.

My favorite additions include die cutting a map piece with the same turquoise, hot pink and yellow. Then I added ribbons to the spiral and big buttons to them…fun, fun.

Important Stuff
Papers Green patterned paper (K&Co.),
Die Cuts/Tools Letter die cuts, Wizard™ (Spellbinders Paper Arts); Bind-it-All machine, Owire (Zutter);
Embellishments Ribbons (Creative Impressions); translucent buttons (Oriental Trading Company)
Stamps/Inks Map (Museum of Modern Rubber-retired); World Traveler, Eiffel Tower/Paris Postage (Inkadinkado);  Rubber Stampede Cherry Blossoms (Delta); Post Card (Stampabilities); Memento Tuxedo Black die ink (Tsukineko)

Other Stuff PVA Glue; Turquoise, Pink and Yellow cardstocks, cream paper,

A few other images:

2) Stamped image on one of the pages.

4) Stamped envelope to hold trinkets or papers.

Spring Fling (CPS 158)

15 Mar

The air is warm and I am feeling it. I just got a stamp set that has a Paris flair and I knew that it would be perfect for a Spring theme. I saw the sketch at Card Positioning Systems (CPS) #158 and thought it was perfect for this theme. Here is the sketch:

So I stamped the fresh Parisian on a scooter and colored with Copic Markers. I cut out the image and adhered it to blue patterned paper that I cut/embossed with a Spellbinders Labels die template.

Then a stamped sentiment and layers of cardstock and a ribbon accent. I think it turned out fab. Here is a little close up on the colored image.

Important Stuff:

One more look:

Hey, thanks for checking in and we’ll see you soon. Happy Creating. Eli

Hello world!

23 Aug

Hey everyone. I’m back and ready for action. Taking the summer off to explore Italy and France with my family have renewed my passion for creating and I can’t wait to share projects with you.

The architecture, sites and history are so inspiring. For 10 weeks, I took over 6,000 photos and am progressing through them to create a couple of shutterfly.com books. One is finished with another one on the way.

I am also preparing to return to Spellbinders Paper Arts as their Community Communications Specialist focusing my efforts on communicating with folks who love the Spellbinder’s products. I’ll be working on a consumer newsletter, writing for the blog and a few other things.

I am also preparing for my first craft show. St. Anne’s, Hannah’s school, is having a “Chocolate Lounge and Holiday Mart” in November and I was asked to be a vendor. I’m working on all kinds of journals, mini albums, birthday books, etc. That is keeping me creating, which I have missed.

So, check me out when you get a chance…it’ll be fun!

Cheers, Eli
