Be Joyful layered card

9 Apr

If you have been with me for any length of time (thanks, by the way) you may know that I’ve been designing for Cut Card Stock for several years and before that, Spellbinders Paper Arts. I’ve designed a lot of cards over the years but the one I just created is a new favorite for me.Image

I’m not sure what it is but I think the colors, the balance, the sentiment, the die-cuts just came together beautifully. Thankfully some days are just like that.

If you want to check out the instructions, click here for the blog poast. Or head over to the CutCardStock.com to see all their products.

Happy Easter to all…and have a creative day. Eli

Wedding Season is Upon Us

21 Feb

I guess wedding season is really all year but it does seem to go into overdrive in the Spring and continue through the summer. So I created a fun wedding card with Copic Markers featuring coloring and airbrushing and, of course, my favorite, Spellbinders die templates.

Go over to CutCardStock.com to see the products I used but you can also check out their blog for some how-to instructions.

Be Our Guest, books

16 Oct

We love to have friends come visit and  living in Palm Beach, Florida, will likely bring plenty. Inspired by this, I have been creating some guest books. I posted my first one here  but have since created several more. Each cover is distinct but they all feature the following:

  • Sized to get the biggest “bang for a buck” from an 8½X11″ sheet of paper, the journals are 4×9″
  • Two columns/page for writing little notes or sharing thoughts or thanks
  • Plenty of pages for lots of visitors’ entries

I hope you enjoy:

Classic colors, don’t you think?

A new classic, maybe: Turquoise and brown

An all-season design

These can be found on my Etsy site for sale. Click on over to see them and other projects! Frolicasions

Laundry Tags

16 Sep

We moved recently to a new house in a new state. Of course the way we live in this house is quite different than the way we lived in our old house. {you can read more about this adventure at my other blog At Home in Palm Beach} This house’s laundry room is smaller and shaped differently. Due to the differences,we  needed make sure the space was efficient.

We brought with us a standing Elfa shelving unit with basket drawers. It fits just perfectly in the laundry room. With so many baskets, it got a bit confusing as to what dirty clothes should get tossed where. So, I designed tags to make it easy for all family members to help sort.

This gives you the full picture. I think they are pretty cute but guess what? They are functional as well. Each 3″ tag has a black circle backing, a patterned paper circle, a black circle with a shaped window and a patterned paper ring. I didn’t mind all these layers because I wanted them to survive some abuse.

As you can see above, I simply printed the type of laundry on the rim of the tag. They are, from the top:

  • cold lights (hence the snowflake)
  • cold darks
  • whites (can be bleached)
  • no tag (I have since been using this for hangers)
  • linens
  • reds/pinks
  • lights
  • darks

So, if  some tags around your house would help, choose some fun/coordinating patterned papers along with some white or black cardstock. Cut window shapes and circles with your Cricut or Wizard. Add a brad, some twine and voilá…the laundry practically does itself. 🙂

ps: {For extra “umph” laminate the tags before the brad/twine}
