Love chipboard album (CPS 187)

6 Oct

I just fell in love with this simple yet brilliant sketch from Card Positioning System.

I wanted to use something besides a circle at the center. So I grabbed my Fleur de Lis Pendants die template. Here is the result of the cover for this chipboard album.

For the photo corners, I used the center die cut of the Fleur de Lis Pendant, cut in quarters. Since the paper was brown and white, it was hard to see on the pink. I added some brown patterned paper under neath to highlight the Fleur de Lis shape.

Here are some of the other pages:

If you get a chance, skip on over to my Etsy shop, Frolicasions, and see the whole journal {also see several other journals and paper crafts}. Thanks, Eli

Finally, Finally, Finally…I’ve had a minute to work on a sketch challenge. I feel like I’ve been away from my craft table for weeks. But I’ve been enjoying summer, working at my new job with ShopHopProductions.com and helping over at Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.

Today I had a graduation party for an extended family member. We’re so proud of him. I knew the sketch from Card Positioning System would be perfect.

Today, I was off to take a pic of it and my camera was unhappy with the memory card. So I scanned it… not bad, I guess…then we left for the party.

Take Ten

I’m working on a little project for my daughter’s school. Soon they’ll have a faculty appreciation event with door prizes. I’m donating a set of hand-made thank you cards. I coordinated the set and will make a pretty little box to hold them. I wanted to share the cards today. Here is the crop!

I used a ton of Spellbinders™ Die Templates, just a few stamps and a few embellishments. So easy.

Important Stuff: S3-136 Butterflies Two, S4-214 Eyelets Borderabilities® Petite, S4-251 Big Scalloped Ovals LG, S4-204 Fleur De Lis Pendants, S4-268 Nested Pears, S4-200 Flower Bouquet, S4-199 Floral Accent, S4-245 Fancy Tags, S4-190 Labels Four, S5-014 Deckled Mega Rectangles SM, S4-241 Jumbo Scalloped Borderabilities® Petite (Spellbinders™); Blue Free Bird “Peace” paper (My Mind’s Eye); Mediterranean blue cardstock (The Paper Studio); Studio g, Thank You Stamp (Hampton Arts); Tim Holtz Flower and text stamps (Stamper’s Anonymous); Stampology Clear Stamp Ink (Autumn Leaves), Glue Dots

Other Stuff: Green satin ribbon, Corner Rounder Punch; Dark Blue dye ink, PVA glue

This project didn’t take long. I cut/embossed 2 of most of the die templates I used, from 2 double-sided papers. I cut blocks of turquoise blue cardstock and I had a pile of card bases ready to go!

I grabbed a couple of elements, a cardstock block and then a die cut. I arranged them all on the card bases and then grabbed some ribbon and a couple of stamps. I adhered, stamped, punched corners and VOÍLA…10 cards.

Here are a couple of close ups…hope they inspire you!

Hope you have a great, creative week! Cheers, Eli

You Fill My Heart (2S4Y)

I just can’t help myself: loving these sketches. My faves came from the gals at 2 Sketches 4 You. This week’s sketch was great fun. Find it HERE. I also seem to be on this purple kick (although if you’ve known me for any length of time, you know that purple often creeps in to my designs)…so who am I trying to kid…here you go.

This was the first time I used my S4-204 Fleur de Lis Pendants die template. I absolutely love it. Hanging the single fleur off the bottom of the Pendant was a little inspiration for balance. I think it worked. Here is a close up of the sentiment.

and of the charm…
